So, I have a question for you...that's what tests are, right? I'm leaving on Sunday to go to NYC with my parents!!! We are going to see Wicked on Sunday night and to a Yankees game at some point. Those are the only "sceduled" events, but we'll be there until Thursday. So
1. Any suggestions as to what we need to do.
2. What are some good places to eat? We want good but budget friendly for most meals. I know my dad will want a good deli (like a real one!) and I like veggies and fruits...maybe a good Thai place? Just flood me with your suggestions! :-)
The other test of the post...seeing if I can post date so that I can do my Daring Bakers post! We shall see...here goes!

good work ... great goin... visit mine...link1
I was just there a few months ago - we ate budget basically the whole time!! I'm definitely not an expert and don't know the best places to go, but for a good deli, you can try the Carnegie Deli - it's right by Carnegie Hall. We ate a lot of street food, adn I was a happy girl!
Ooh, fun! I've never been, but can't wait to hear about your trip and what all you see and do and eat! Have a wonderful, safe trip :)
http://www.katzdeli.com/ made famous in "When Harry met Sally." Might not be budget friendly. If you like Indian food, there are many Indian restaurants on 1st Avenue around 5th through 7th streets. Red Bamboo is also good, for strictly vegetarian that tastes like real meat food. Carmine's is good for Italian food, but is always crowded.
If you want to eat cheaply, you should stay out of midtown and downtown (by Wall street).
It might depend on where you're staying as to where y'all might eat. There are lots of deli type places and I don't remember any of the restaurants we went to but we did ask at the hotel for suggestions. If you eat at some of the nicer places for lunch instead of dinner, the prices will be a bit better. The girls & I ate at Dean & Deluca one day for lunch while shopping.
Y'all should see the Empire State Building, Statue of Liberty, Times Square, Central Park, maybe the Metropolitan Museum....we went to Rockefeller Center one morning early for the Today show, I think St. Patricks cathedral is close by. We liked shopping; H&M is fun, Bloomingdales or any of the other well known spots. Take the subway to shop in China Town for cheaper, knock off stuff and that can be fun too. Then you could see Wall Street and the WTC area maybe while down there. And go see Les Miserables or Phantom of the Opera if you have time! Yay for Wicked! You'll run out of time before you run out of things to do!
I think a travel book could be good to have as a reference and ideas, like something by Fodor's or a Birnbaum travel guide for the city.
Looking forward to hearing all about it!
So exciting that you're seeing Wicked! I'd love to see that one...good that y'all have already seen Phantom and Les Mis (which might be off anyway)....Mary Poppins sounds like a good one. I'd probably love to see Jersey Boys or Mamma Mia but it's on the movie right now!
You asked a/b today show and I don't really remember what time we went. But I think the show had started so it was after 7; no one was really interested in going early except me. If you really want better spots or to be on I think earlier is better, like 6...if there is a concert or someone big on, people get there even earlier! You might can make your way forward if you stay longer and people filter away. Hope y'all have a good trip!
