As most of you know, I'm sure, last night there was some really bad weather in the South. One of the hardest hit areas was Jackson, TN, where my parents live. They are fine and didn't have any damage, but the college where my dad teaches, Union University, was directly hit. Looking at pictures you would think it was a war zone. Cars are flipped and re-parked, almost every building has damage, and two dorms, one each women's and men's, are completely destroyed. At this point, the college has not place to house the students. 
However, this is a complete example of God's hand in everything! Even with all that destruction...there were no deaths! About 20 students were trapped in the debris but no one has major/life-threatening injuries. He is comepletely sovereign in all things. He is Jehovah Jireh - our Lord who provides - and will provide for these students and the university. He is Jehovah Shammah - the Lord who is with us - and never leaves. Praise God for His goodness! Please pray for the University and the students and faculty as decisions are made and things cleaned and repaired.

I was sad to see that this morning about Union and wondered if your parents were ok. We have fond memories of Union; all the kids spent summers there at Centrifuge for quite a few years.
I was so amazed when I saw the pictures that no one died. The dorms looked horrible. :(
I'm so sorry. That's really scary. We had tornado warnings all night, but luckily nothing happened.
Thank God that your parents were unhurt. God does have his hands in everything, even things that turn out differently than we wished. He is there to hold our hand when things are tough.
God certainly had His hand on those students in the dorm. How thankful we all are that no one was killed. Their adventure here on earth is not over. There is still work to be done. Praise God. Jancd

The damage looked terrible on the news. God protected everyone that night! Wow. Even in ruins, God is amazing.
Gail - hopefully, they'll be getting things fixed up quickly and will be back to Centrifuging it soon.
Peabody - It was such a blessing no one died. Everyone is doing pretty well.
Emiline - I know it's going to take a while before those kids don't get uptight when those sirens go off.

So glad that there were only injuries in the midst of so much destruction. God is truly good!
